About the Brussels Griffon This is a breed of dog named for the city of their origin, Brussels, Belgium. They are a part of the toy dog category. They were first found in royal coach houses in the 1800s. Coachmen used them to help keep rats away from stables. They are known to be a bit sensitive, to have a huge heart and a strong desire to snuggle with their master. They are not necessarily suitable with very small children.
