About the Belgian Shepherd Dog
There are four breeds of this dog: the Groenendael, the Laekenois, the Tervueren or the Malinois.

The AKC recognizes only the Grenendael under the name Belgian Sheepdog. They are hard working, intelligent dogs. They are also alert and sensitive to everything going on. They really like to please. This dog needs lots of activity, like playing in the park, herding, learning tricks.

They are widely considered to be a fine looking dog, loyal, intelligent, fun, and well suited to family life. They overall fairly healthy as a breed.
