About the Australian Kelpie
The Kelpie is an Australian breed of sheep dog that actually herds sheep in Australia and in the mountains of New Zealand. They are a medium sized dogand come in various colors. They are known in other places throughout the world for their ability to herd not only sheep, but cattle, goats, ducks and other livestock. The breed has, over time, split into two types, the Australian Kelpie and the working Kelpie.

This type of dog is clever, loyal and friendly. They have an abundance of energy. They can work in extreme climates and conditions. They are known for their ability to run along the backs of the sheep when moving them through chutes.

Kelpies are hardy dogs and have few health problems.
