About the Australian Cattle Dog The Australian Cattle Dog (ACD), is also called the Queensland Heeler, Blue Heeler, and Red Heeler. It is a medium sized herding dog developed in Australia for controlling cattle.They have a lot of energy and an independent streak. Like other herding dogs, these cattle dogs have very high energy levels and active minds. They need lots of exercise and jobs to do.
